I recently was married and am currently in the process of changing my last name to Fleig.
Thank you in advance!
Welcome, Boone Bulldogs! My name is Annabelle Fleig and I am entering into my fourth year with Highland Park ISD for the 2020-2021 school year. This year marks the beginning of many "firsts" for us all as we embark on creating the Boone Bulldog legacy. I am thrilled to get to know new students and families as well as greet familiar faces. We have an exciting school year ahead!
As we step into this new chapter for Highland Park ISD, I would love to share a little about myself. I grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Texas A&M University. I began my career in education teaching fourth grade in Houston before moving to Dallas. I have been teaching second grade at Armstrong Elementary for the last three years.  My role as a classroom teacher shaped my passions in the field of school counseling. Supporting the growth of students academically, socially, and emotionally organically lead me to pursue school counseling. I returned to Texas A&M University to earn a master's degree in Educational Psychological & Brain Sciences.
Outside of work, you can find me enjoying newlywed life! My husband, Zach, and I love spending time with our family and friends. I grew up with three brothers including a twin brother! On fall Saturdays, we are often in College Station cheering on the Aggies (Gig 'Em!) with our family. We love spending our time outdoors, watching sports games, trying out new restaurants, and playing intramural flag football.
As your school counselor, I am here to serve and support the students, families, and staff of Boone. I feel privileged to support all students this year as they explore, learn, and gain powerful tools to become authentic difference-makers in our community. Please contact me with questions or concerns. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
