Welcome to Second Grade!

My name is Stacy Slater, and I'm thrilled to be teaching 2nd Grade at Boone again this year! 

I graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Early Childhood Education and got my Master's in Liberal Arts from SMU after moving to Dallas. This is my eleventh year teaching public school. I've also taught Kindergarten (6 years) and 3rd grade! This is my third year at Boone and my fourth year teaching 2nd grade. I was a teacher at Hyer from 1998-2001 and left teaching full-time to raise my two girls in 2001. I live in Richardson with my husband, Mark. My daughter Sarah Grace graduated from Mizzou in May 2023, and my daughter Cammy graduated from UCLA in June 2025. We have a cat named Ramona Quimby and a maltipoo named Bizou.

I love traveling (France is my fav!), baking/cooking, reading, and yoga. Some of my favorite things are flavored sparkling water, chocolate, coffee, and flowers. 

I love the magic and excitement that children bring to school each day, and I can't wait to learn together.
