Meet Mrs. Cortina

Hello, my name is Courtney Cortina and I am going to be your child's 2nd grade teacher this year! I am so excited to meet you. We are going to have a GREAT school year! 

 

I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. After student teaching, I decided to go back to school and obtained my Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy in 2021. I am also in the process of earning my National Board Teacher Certification. I have had the opportunity to teach in Kindergarten - 4th Grade.

 

My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been happily married for 4 years. We are born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, and have 2 fur babies, Aspen and Holly. We spend as much free time as we can with each other; seeing new places, trying new restaurants, going for walks, and even some golfing here and there!

 

As a teacher, I believe in a strong classroom community. It is my goal to help create a positive classroom environment for all students to thrive in and become life-long learners. I am so excited for another year at Boone and I'm looking forward to all the fun moments!
