Welcome Bulldogs!

Howdy Bulldogs!

I am so excited and honored to be the nurse for Boone Elementary School this year! With every new school year, but this year more than most, comes the excitement of new opportunities and realizing potential through learning. I look forward to doing my part to provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment for the students and faculty of Boone Elementary. For the past three years, I have been a nurse in the inpatient hematology oncology unit at Medical City Dallas, and cherish the time I worked there. Coming from the “frontlines” of the hospital to the “frontlines” of education, my goal is to use my training and skills as a nurse to provide safety, confidence, and care to every student and faculty member at Boone Elementary.

A little bit about Nurse Whitney…

I grew up in the beautiful “Music City” of Nashville, TN. And yes, I do love country music! I went to Auburn University (War Eagle!) and graduated with a degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. After that, I decided to go into Nursing and earned my BSN from Texas A&M University (Whoop!). I met my husband, Jake, when we were both camp counselors at Camp Barnabas in college. We love to fish, camp, go to football games, eat Mexican food, and travel. Texas quickly became my home when I moved here six years ago, and it has had my heart ever since. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve my community in this unique roll, especially this year!

Even with the uncertainties we may face this year, I have no doubt we will have an incredible school year! Go Bulldogs!
