Meet Mrs. Cortina

Hello, my name is Courtney Cortina and I am going to be your child's 2nd grade teacher this year! I am so excited to meet you. We are going to have a GREAT school year! 

 

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Educational Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, I achieved my National Board Certification this past December. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching students from Kindergarten through 4th Grade.

My husband and I are high school sweethearts, and we have been happily married for six years. We were both born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, and we share our lives with two beloved pups, Aspen and Holly. This September, we are excited to embark on a new journey as first-time parents, welcoming a baby boy into our family. In our free time, we enjoy exploring new places, trying out different restaurants, walking with our pups, and occasionally playing golf.

 

As a teacher, I believe in a strong classroom community. It is my goal to help create a positive classroom environment for all students to thrive in and become life-long learners. I am so excited for another year at Boone and I'm looking forward to all the fun moments!
