Board Approves 4% Raise

The HPISD Board of Trustees announced at the April 28 school board meeting its commitment to increase teacher and staff salaries by 4 percent for the 2026–27 school year.

The teacher pay scale can be found here. For all other staff, the increase will be 4% of the mid-point.

“From 2020 to 2025, Highland Park Independent School District teacher salaries have increased by more than 25 percent across the board,” said HPISD Superintendent Dr. Mike Rockwood. “This additional 4 percent increase in 2026 shows that we remain committed to being a leader in teacher compensation.”

While many school districts face significant budget challenges, Highland Park ISD is well positioned due to strong fiscal management and continued community support.

“Through the combined support of Bond 2024 and significant contributions from the Highland Park Education Foundation, our PTA/PTO organizations, La Fiesta, PCDC, and many others, HPISD continues to strengthen its commitment to competitive compensation and exceptional staff retention,” said Dr. Rockwood. “This raise marks another important step in ensuring our teacher salaries remain in the top quartile among North Texas school districts.”

The 2026–27 salary increase is another example of Highland Park ISD’s collective commitment to excellence in both instruction and support.
