Hi! My name is Amy Sewell and I am thrilled to be a Boone Bulldog with HPISD this year. I am about to begin my 12th year as an educator, and 8th year teaching kindergarten. My journey as an educator began when I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University and began teaching first grade in Forney, Texas. I later transferred to Frisco ISD and completed 6 years of teaching (kindergarten and 4th grade) while also earning my Master's Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Shortly after, I came to HPISD and taught kindergarten for 3 years at Hyer Elementary. I took a short break from my teaching career but am ecstatic to be returning back to HPISD!
I absolutely love working with children and getting to ignite their passion for learning. My goal is to create a life-long learner in each of my students by exploring and creating in a loving environment. Our school year together will be filled with lots of FUN, new learning, and getting to love 21 new little friends. Sewell’s Crew is going to be amazing!!
Away from the classroom, I love being able to travel (or plan a trip) with my husband everywhere and anywhere! We also have a fur baby named Bailey that we absolutely adore. We enjoy taking her on long walks when the weather is cool. A fun little fact about me is that I LOVE playing bingo!
As the new school year begins to unfold, I am eager to meet the newest of Bulldogs. Come by and see me in room A130 soon!
