I am so excited that we get to spend this year together learning, growing, and having a blast in class! My name is Caylee Stokes and I will be the Fundamentals teacher at Boone Elementary. I received a bachelor’s degree in Special Education at Stephen F. Austin State University (Axe ’em Jacks) in good ole East Texas. I am from the Dallas area, and yes I did not go to Arkansas, but I am a very loyal razorback fan. I worked at a summer camp for people with disabilities called Camp Barnabas for 5 summers serving on the leadership team, so I am experience in learning people's differences and seeking out people's ABILITIES, not only seeing their disabilities. I am a 3rd year teacher and I previously worked at Garland High School as the Transition 12+ teacher, which was a perfect place for me as I started my career, but I wanted to expand my knowledge and decided that elementary was the right move for me!
Besides teaching, you can find me with my sweet (but also crazy) golden doodle named Harlow, enjoying the outdoors, playing sports, drinking coffee, and spending time with the people I love. I can't wait to spend my 3rd year teaching with you and working alongside with the amazing families at Boone Elementary! I will fight for inclusion for my students and will make sure they are getting everything that they need and deserve. Most of all, I will push for their growth, magnify their abilities, and I will love them so deeply.
I can’t wait to meet each of you. We are all in this together, so let's get this school year started!
Love,
Ms. Stokes
