Welcome to kindergarten, bulldogs! I am thrilled to join you in opening Boone Elementary and look forward to establishing new traditions and making memories with you and your child. This school year will be my 8th year teaching kindergarten and 3rd year in Highland Park ISD. I am a proud Texas Longhorn and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em!) where I received a degree in Early Childhood Education. This past year, I earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy Studies from UT Arlington. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with friends and family, reading, traveling, and exploring Dallas with my husband and puppy, Margot!
Teaching kindergarten is my passion and I enjoy laying the foundation students need to be successful readers, writers, and problem solvers. My teaching philosophy is focused on student inquiry and the development of lifelong learners. I am committed to growth for all students. Each child comes into my classroom with different strengths and abilities and it is my goal to push each child to their full potential. I strive to instill a growth mindset in my students and am looking forward to seeing all that they accomplish this year. It’s going to be a fun-filled, memorable year of learning and growing together!
